Emre Can (2/10)

Emre Can came into the team and delivered an abject performance in the defensive midfield role. He gave the Gladbach midfielders all the time in the world on the ball and was too slow to react on a number of occasions. His positioning for three of Gladbach’s four goals was especially poor.

Jude Bellingham (5/10)

Bellingham set up Julian Brandt’s equaliser with an outrageous outside of the boot pass. But he lost sight of Bensebaini and gave him a free header inside the box for Gladbach’s second goal. He looked to be fatigued and tired in the second half, and also left a lot of space behind as he tried to make things happen going forward.

Julian Brandt (7/10)

Brandt was Borussia Dortmund’s only outfield player who actually had a decent game. His technique for his goal was simply world class. And he also helped set up a couple of really good chances for his teammates. He wasn’t able to get on the ball much in the second half as Gladbach took control of the game.
