Youssoufa Moukoko remains coy on Borussia Dortmund future

Youssoufa Moukoko is remaining coy on his Borussia Dortmund future, with just over six months left on his current contract.

Youssoufa Moukoko’s future at Borussia Dortmund remains uncertain as his current contract with the club is set to expire at the end of the season. Speculation about the highly rated striker’s future is mounting, with a number of Europe’s biggest clubs keeping tabs on him.

Moukoko was asked about his plans for the future on Saturday, but refused to reveal whether he will sign a new contract with the Black and Yellows or not. However, he did say that he feels very comfortable at Borussia Dortmund. During a press conference ahead of the 2022 FIFA World Cup, Moukoko said:

"“I haven’t spoken to Hansi Flick about it at all yet. But then again, we’re not at BVB, we’re here with the national team at a World Cup. I feel very comfortable in Dortmund, I feel the confidence of the coach. You’ll find out in the end whether I decide to stay or not.”"

Moukoko, who is set to turn 18 on Sunday, is enjoying an impressive breakthrough campaign with Borussia Dortmund. He has established himself as the team’s first choice striker, and has scored six goals and assisted a further four in just 14 Bundesliga appearances so far this season.

His performances helped him earn a call-up to Hansi Flick’s squad for the 2022 FIFA World Cup. And he made his debut for Germany during their warm-up match against Oman earlier this week, becoming the youngest player to represent the 2014 World Cup winners in 68 years.

Borussia Dortmund have already offered Youssoufa Moukoko a new contract. And there is hope that he will sign a contract extension with the club in the near future. The BVB bosses will certainly not want to lose him on a free transfer in the summer.
