Youssoufa Moukoko is looking forward to making an impact at the 2022 FIFA World Cup after being named in the Germany squad for the tournament.

Youssoufa Moukoko earned his maiden call-up to the Germany senior team earlier this month on the back of his excellent recent performances for Borussia Dortmund. And the highly rated striker is now determined to show his quality at the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

During a press conference with the Germany national team on Saturday, Moukoko said that being at a World Cup at the age of 17 is something special. He added that he is eager to gain experience and make the most of this opportunity.

"“Being here at the World Cup at 17 is something special. I’ve been welcomed and integrated really well, and we’re looking forward to getting started soon.”“I can gain experience here and I am here to learn. I’m happy when a player comes to me and gives me tips and tells me how I can do things. I can learn a lot here.”“I am here because the coach believes in me. I believe I can help the team. I will definitely go full throttle and enjoy it.”"

Moukoko earned a place in Hansi Flick’s World Cup squad after establishing himself as Borussia Dortmund’s first-choice striker. The player, who will celebrate his 18th birthday on Sunday, has six goals and four assists to his name in just 14 Bundesliga appearances this season. And he made history earlier this week, as he became the youngest player to represent the Germany national team since Uwe Seeler in 1954.

With Timo Werner and Lukas Nmecha not in the squad due to injuries, there is a chance for Youssoufa Moukoko to stake a claim for a spot in the Germany starting XI for the tournament in Qatar.
