Five Borussia Dortmund players could be involved as Germany begin their 2022 FIFA World Cup campaign against Japan at the Khalifa International Stadium.

An enthralling contest awaits us on Wednesday as Germany and Japan square off in Group E of the 2022 FIFA World Cup. There will be no shortage of talented players on the pitch, and several Bundesliga players are also set to feature.

Germany will be determined to put in a much better performance this time around after failing to get out of the group stage at the 2018 World Cup. But doing so will certainly not be easy as they are in what is arguably the group of death, with Japan, Spain and Costa Rica all possessing a lot of quality.

The 2014 World Cup winners will be without Bayern Munich winger Leroy Sané on Wednesday, as he is sidelined with a knee injury. Japan do not have any injury concerns to deal with. Eintracht Frankfurt attacking midfielder Daichi Kamada will be looking to continue his excellent run of form at the World Cup.

Five Borussia Dortmund players could be in action on Wednesday, with Niklas Süle expected to start.
