Borussia Dortmund are set to welcome back Jamie Bynoe-Gittens and Mahmoud Dahoud from injury as both players were revealed to be training once again, per BVB.

Borussia Dortmund are set to get a boost in terms of personnel for the second half of the season, and while they might not necessarily be new transfers, they might as well be with just how little they’ve featured this season. Both midfielder Mahmoud Dahoud and winger Jamie Bynoe-Gittens have begun to train on the pitch once again, signaling that they will likely be match fit once the German Bundesliga resumes in late January.

Both players will be welcome reinforcements for Edin Terzić and his side as they will help to spread the burden in crucial parts of the pitch for Dortmund. With Dahoud, Dortmund will have a midfielder that can help take some weight off of Jude Bellingham’s shoulders. The English international played an immense amount of minutes for Dortmund which saw him look a little tired going into the last few games of 2022. Dahoud will give Terzić the option to rest Bellingham a bit more and allow him to maintain fitness going into what will be a very crucial part of Dortmund’s season.

With Bynoe-Gittens on the other hand, Dortmund will finally have additional options on the wing. Aside from Thorgan Hazard, Bynoe-Gittens is the only natural winger the squad have. His return may see either Karim Adeyemi or Donyell Malen move in more centrally, and at the least limit the time that Terzić may seek to play them out wide.

The return of both Bynoe-Gittens and Dahoud will certainly bering a level of dynamism back to Dotymund’s play, as both have shown that at their peak they can be creative outlets for their club. It will be interesting to see just how much Terzić chooses to utilize these players and if they indeed play an important role in the second half of the season to come.
