Borussia Dortmund coach Otto Addo led Ghana to a 3-2 win over South Korea on Monday, as they took a crucial step towards World Cup round of 16 qualification.

Ghana are potentially just one point away from qualifying for the round of 16 of the 2022 FIFA World Cup after seeing off the challenge of South Korea in a topsy turvy clash on Monday. Mohammed Kudus scored a brace for Otto Addo’s side, who are now up to second place in Group H.

Otto Addo was left frustrated by poor officiating during his side’s narrow defeat to Portugal in their World Cup opener. But he will have no doubt been delighted by the resilience Ghana showed against South Korea.

Ghana raced to a two goal lead in the first half, with Mohammed Salisu and Mohammed Kudus finding the back of the net. South Korea battled back after the break, and managed to get back on level terms thanks to a quick-fire brace from Cho Gue-sung. But Kudus scored again seven minutes later to give Ghana a priceless win.

Borussia Dortmund talent coach Otto Addo, who was appointed Ghana head coach last year and led them to World Cup qualification, will now be aiming to help his country reach the last 16 on Friday as they take on Uruguay.
