Borussia Dortmund goalkeeper Gregor Kobel has no interest in joining Bayern Munich despite rumours liking him with a move to Bavaria in recent months.

It was reported last month that Bayern Munich are following the progress of Borussia Dortmund goalkeeper Gregor Kobel with a view to a potential move for him as the long-term replacement for Manuel Neuer. The Switzerland international was asked about the rumour recently and made it clear that he is not interested in a move to BVB’s title rivals.

"In an interview with Sport1, Kobel said when asked if he has heard about Bayern’s interest in him:“No, and it’s not of any interest to me either. I play for Dortmund and I have a lot of big goals with BVB. That is all I’m interested in.”"

Gregor Kobel, who joined Borussia Dortmund from VfB Stuttgart last year for a fee in the region of 15 million euros, has established himself as one of the best goalkeepers in the Bundesliga. He has delivered a number of stellar performances for the Black and Yellows over the last 18 months, and has quickly become a very important part of the team.

Kobel has made a total of 56 appearances across all competitions for Borussia Dortmund. The 24 year old is rated very highly at BVB and still has more than three years left on his current contract with the club. So the chances of him leaving anytime soon are highly unlikely.

Gregor Kobel made his FIFA World Cup debut for Switzerland on Friday evening and helped them earn a 3-2 win over Serbia in their final group stage game. The win helped Switzerland qualify for the round of 16 of the 2022 FIFA World Cup, where they will face Raphael Guerreiro and Portugal.
