Winner: Youssoufa Moukoko

Youssoufa Moukoko began the season as Borussia Dortmund’s first-choice striker but lost his spot in the team after the BVB bosses decided to sign Anthony Modeste from FC Köln. But the talented striker did not let that deter him, and he bounced back really well to reclaim his place in the starting XI.

Moukoko, who only turned 18 recently, caused opposition defenders all sorts of problems with his intelligent movement and link-up play in the first half of the season.

Moukoko showed with his performances that he is ready to play at the top level and ended the hinrunde as Borussia Dortmund’s top goalscorer and assist maker in the Bundesliga. And he was rewarded with a call-up to the Germany squad for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
