Sebastien Haller could be set to make his return to Borussia Dortmund’s training ground as early as next month after making good progress in his recovery from his testicular tumour.
Sebastien Haller is currently on the road to recovery after being diagnosed with a malignant testicular tumour during pre-season. The Borussia Dortmund striker underwent a second operation to fight the tumour last month after completing a round of chemotherapy treatment. Now BILD are reporting that the Ivory Coast international could soon be back on the training ground.
According to the tabloid, Haller is in good shape after his recent surgery and it has already been agreed with Borussia Dortmund that he will return to the training ground as early as next month. The plan is for the 28 year old to start with running and strength training, and he is also expected to do some light training with the ball at his feet. All of this will be done in consultation with the doctors who have been treating him.
There is still no timeframe for Sebastien Haller’s return to action. The striker has yet to make his debut for Borussia Dortmund, having only joined the club in the summer from Dutch side AFC Ajax.
The BVB bosses have made it clear on a number of occasions that they will give Haller all the time he needs to recover from his illness. But the hope will be that he can make his return to the pitch and play in front of the Borussia Dortmund fans as soon as possible.
