Contract extension talks between Borussia Dortmund and Youssoufa Moukoko’s entourage are set to continue in January after an agreement wasn’t reached in the latest meeting between the two parties.

There has been plenty of speculation surrounding Youssoufa Moukoko’s future in recent weeks, and the striker even took to Instagram on Friday to comment on the lies being reported in the media. But that hasn’t stopped the rumours, with Sky Sport claiming that a contract extension between the striker and Borussia Dortmund is currently not in sight despite a meeting between the two parties earlier this week.

The report adds that Borussia Dortmund are offering Moukoko an annual base salary of more than three million euros plus up to three million euros in performance related add-ons. The 18 year old’s entourage is demanding an annual salary in the region of six million euros plus add-ons. The two parties had a meeting on Thursday, but an agreement could not be reached.

Sky Sport add that no deadline has yet been set for a decision on Moukoko’s future, and the two parties are planning to meet again next month to resume contract extension talks.

The Germany international said last month that his preference is to stay at Borussia Dortmund. But rumours continue to link him with a move away from the club, with the likes of Chelsea, FC Barcelona, and a number of other top European teams pursuing a move for him. Sky further add that while the two parties are not yet close to reaching an agreement, there is no danger of contract talks breaking down.
