Report: Borussia Dortmund keen to extend Mahmoud Dahoud’s contract
By Tushar Bahl
Borussia Dortmund are said to be keen to extend Mahmoud Dahoud’s contract, but they could face competition from English Premier League clubs.
Mahmoud Dahoud’s contract with Borussia Dortmund is set to expire at the end of the season and talks over an extension have not taken place yet. WAZ are reporting that the Black and Yellows would like to extend the midfielder’s contract and keep him at the club beyond the end of the season. But a number of other clubs, including several teams from the English Premier League, are also said to be interested in signing him.
WAZ add that Dahoud would like to stay at Borussia Dortmund, and talks over a new contract are expected to take place later this month. But with his contract set to expire at the end of the season, the 27 year old is now also free to officially speak with other clubs.
It will be interesting to see what the future holds for Dahoud, who has been one of Borussia Dortmund’s most consistent performers over the last two seasons.
Dahoud was expected to play a key role for Borussia Dortmund this season under Edin Terzic. But he suffered a serious shoulder injury in August, and has been sidelined ever since. The expectation is that he will be fully fit and ready to return to action in time for the start of the second half of the season.
Mahmoud Dahoud, who joined Borussia Dortmund from Borussia Mönchengladbach in 2017, has made a total of 135 appearances for the club.
