By Tushar Bahl
Borussia Dortmund are not planning to make any major purchases or sales during the January transfer window, according to reports.
The January transfer window is upon us and rumours are in full swing. There has been plenty of transfer speculation involving Borussia Dortmund in recent weeks. But the likelihood is that it will be a very quiet transfer window for the Black and Yellows.
According to Kicker, Borussia Dortmund are not expected to make any major signings this month. And the only players who could leave the club are Felix Passlack and Nico Schulz. The former will be out of contract at the end of the season, while the latter hasn’t featured yet this season and is free to leave the club.
Youssoufa Moukoko, Thomas Meunier and Emre Can have also been linked with moves away from Borussia Dortmund in recent weeks. But it is unlikely that the BVB bosses will let them leave the club in the middle of the season.
Sebastian Kehl and co. have stated in recent months that they do not expect Borussia Dortmund to make any major moves in the January transfer window.
Borussia Dortmund had plenty of ups and downs in the first half of the season. While Edin Terzic’s side managed to qualify for the UEFA Champions League round of 16, they struggled in the Bundesliga and find themselves in sixth place going into the second half of the season. BVB will go up against FC Augsburg in their first game of the Rückrunde on January 22.
