Report: PSV Eindhoven looking to re-sign Donyell Malen

PSV Eindhoven are reportedly interested in bringing Donyell Malen back to the club. But Borussia Dortmund are unlikely to sell the Dutch forward in the middle of the season.
Donyell Malen is said to be attracting the interest of PSV Eindhoven, with the Dutch giants reportedly keen on bringing the forward back to the club just 18 months after his move to Borussia Dortmund.
According to Ruhr Nachrichten, PSV would like to sign Malen on a loan deal until the end of the season. They want him to replace Cody Gakpo, who recently completed a move to Liverpool.
The newspaper adds that there has been no contact between the two clubs so far. But Borussia Dortmund are unlikely to want to let Malen depart in the middle of the season, even if PSV Eindhoven do make a bid for him before the transfer window closes.
Donyell Malen joined Borussia Dortmund from PSV Eindhoven in 2021 for a transfer fee in the region of 30 million euros. But the former Arsenal youngster has not been able to make much of an impact in the Bundesliga. He hasn’t scored a competitive goal since late July, and also failed to make the Netherlands squad for the recently concluded FIFA World Cup.
Edin Terzic and Sebastian Kehl both recently backed Malen to find his form in the second half of the season. But the pressure will be on the 23 year old as he looks to end his slump and make a telling impact.
Malen has made a total of 55 appearances across all competitions for Borussia Dortmund so far, scoring ten goals and assisting a further seven.
