Sebastian Kehl has said that Borussia Dortmund would like to have Youssoufa Moukoko’s future sorted soon, amid claims that he could leave the club on a free transfer in the summer.
Speculation surrounding Youssoufa Moukoko’s future has dominated headlines in recent days, with the likes of Chelsea, FC Barcelona, Manchester United, and Liverpool all said to be eyeing a move for him. The highly rated striker’s contract with Borussia Dortmund is set to expire at the end of the season, and an extension does not appear to be in sight at the moment.
Borussia Dortmund are set to hold further talks with Moukoko’s entourage in the coming weeks. But there is a real possibility of the 18 year old leaving the club in the summer. Reports in Germany claim that Moukoko has a contract extension offer on the table, but he is not prepared to accept it.
Sebastian Kehl commented on Moukoko’s future on Monday and said that they would like to get some clarity on the striker’s future very soon. The Borussia Dortmund sporting director told WAZ, “We would like the decision to be made quite promptly, of course. It’s important for everyone involved to have clarity.”
According to Ruhr Nachrichten, Borussia Dortmund would like to have a final decision on Moukoko’s future before the start of the second half of the season.
Youssoufa Moukoko has established himself as Borussia Dortmund’s first-choice striker this season, and has six goals and four assists to his name in 14 Bundesliga appearances. He said in November that his priority is to stay with the Black and Yellows. But with less than six months left on his current contract, his future still remains uncertain.
