Jürgen Klopp has denied claims that he has already held talks with Jude Bellingham’s parents, amid reports that Liverpool are interested in signing the Borussia Dortmund midfielder.
The future of Jude Bellingham has been the subject of plenty of speculation, with some of Europe’s biggest clubs interested in signing him. Liverpool have been heavily linked with a move for him in recent weeks. And Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp has now commented on reports linking the England international with a move to the Premier League club.
In an interview with SportBILD, the former Borussia Dortmund head coach said:
"“Jude is a great player who we are familiar with, of course. We’d be stupid not to have him on our radar. But there’s nothing more to say at the moment.”(on reports that he has already held talks with Jude Bellingham’s parents) “These things are not possible because he is under contract with Borussia Dortmund and that is not possible without their consent. So it’s not true.”"
Liverpool are set to face competition from the likes of Manchester City and Real Madrid for Bellingham’s signature if he makes the decision to leave Borussia Dortmund in the summer.
The Black and Yellows are set to hold initial talks with the midfielder’s parents and advisor this week to discuss his future. The BVB bosses are hoping to get some clarity on his plans for the future in the coming weeks. It is being widely touted that the 19 year old will leave Borussia Dortmund at the end of the season.
Reports claim that Borussia Dortmund will look to demand a transfer fee in the region of 150 million euros for Jude Bellingham, who has two and a half years left on his current contract with the club. The 19 year old has been one of BVB’s top performers this season, and he also impressed for England at the recently concluded FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
