Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr are said to be interested in signing Marco Reus, with his current contract with Borussia Dortmund set to expire at the end of the season.

Al-Nassr made a big splash last month by signing Cristiano Ronaldo on a free transfer. The Saudi Arabian club offered Ronaldo the highest salary ever received by a football player. And now they are apparently eyeing a move for Borussia Dortmund captain Marco Reus, who will be out of contract in the summer.

According to the Daily Mail, Al-Nassr are interested in signing more players from European leagues and are eyeing a move for Reus. The tabloid adds that clubs in the English Premier League are also interested in signing the 33 year old, but Al-Nassr are hoping to win the race for his signature.

Reus’ current contract with Borussia Dortmund is set to expire at the end of the season, so he is free to hold talks with other clubs ahead of a potential free transfer in the summer.

Marco Reus made it clear on a number of occasions last year that his desire is to stay at Borussia Dortmund until the end of his playing career. Talks between the two parties are set to take place in the coming months. And the expectation is that the attacking midfielder will be offered a new contract by the BVB bosses.

It remains to be seen how real Al-Nassr’s interest is in signing Reus. But the likelihood is still that he will stay at Borussia Dortmund beyond the end of the season.
