Gregor Kobel has hailed Sébastien Haller’s impact in training, with the Borussia Dortmund striker working towards his return to competitive action.

Sébastien Haller took the next big step on his road to recovery earlier this week as he made his return to training with Borussia Dortmund. The striker has been taking part in parts of team training during the club’s mid-season training camp in Marbella. And goalkeeper Gregor Kobel has revealed that he is already making a strong impression.

During a media round on Saturday, the Switzerland international said:

"“Sebastien is making a very good impression. He looks very sharp, I like his movement. From what I’ve seen of him so far, he looks quite good.”“Nevertheless, I think you still have to give him the time he needs, because it’s certainly not something you can just shake off quickly, even if he looks to be in top shape right now. That just speaks to his quality and his will. He’s also managed to keep himself at a very good fitness level. You can only take your hat off to him.”"

Haller has made some big strides in his comeback bid in recent weeks. The 28 year old, who was diagnosed with testicular cancer in July and had two undergo two operations as well as a chemotherapy treatment, looks to be in great physical shape and is working hard for his return.

Haller trained individually during the holidays to work on his strength and fitness. And he is now back on the pitch, determined to make his long-awaited Borussia Dortmund debut in the second half of the season.

The BVB bosses are taking every precaution with the striker’s fitness and will look to give him all the time he needs to be ready for his comeback. It remains to be seen when Sébastien Haller will be able to make his competitive debut for the Black and Yellows. But his return to training is excellent news, and the hope will be that he can continue to make progress in his comeback bid in the coming weeks and months.
