Hans-Joachim Watzke has commented on the future of Jude Bellingham, saying that the England international hasn’t yet told them that he wants to leave the club.
Jude Bellingham’s excellent performances for Borussia Dortmund and England have seen him attract the interest of some of Europe’s biggest clubs. Hans-Joachim Watzke spoke about the England international’s future in an interview with Sky Sport on Wednesday.
When asked to compare the contract situations of Jude Bellingham and Youssoufa Moukoko, the BVB CEO said:
"“Jude has a contract until 2025 and so far he hasn’t once said that he’d like to end his contract early. So it’s a completely different situation. Youssoufa’s contract expires in the summer, Jude has two years left. You can’t compare the two at all.”"
Bellingham still has two and a half years left on his current contract with Borussia Dortmund. So the Black and Yellows aren’t under any pressure to sell him at the moment. It has been reported that the BVB bosses will demand a fee in the region of 150 million euros if the 19 year old decides to leave the club in the summer.
Bellingham has been one of Borussia Dortmund’s top performers this season, and has also established himself as a leader in the team.
The likes of Liverpool, Manchester City and Real Madrid are all said to be in the race for his signature. Borussia Dortmund are also keen to keep him at the club beyond the end of the season. Bellingham has not yet made a final decision on his future. Although reports claim that he is liekly to leave BVB in the summer.
Borussia Dortmund will hope for a quick resolution to Jude Bellingham’s future one way or another, as they look to finalise their plans for the summer transfer window.
