Julian Brandt feels comfortable at Borussia Dortmund at the moment, but has admitted that he does not know what the future holds for him.

Julian Brandt is quietly enjoying a fairly decent season with Borussia Dortmund. After struggling for consistency for much of his first three seasons with the club, the playmaker is finally starting to show why the Black and Yellows signed him from Bayer Leverkusen in 2019.

In addition to his consistency, Brandt has also developed into a more well-rounded player this season. His hard work on the defensive side has caught the eye of many. And he has drawn plenty of praise from supporters and Edin Terzic.

Brandt still has 18 months left on his current contract with Borussia Dortmund. And the Germany international feels very comfortable at the club right now. But he left his future open when asked about his plans in an interview with Sport1.

"“I have never had a career plan, so I can’t answer that question. Everything is open for me. I feel comfortable here, but who knows where the wind will blow us. If everything goes well here, I would be very happy to extend my contract. But anything can happen. That’s why it’s difficult to make an assessment.”"

It was reported last summer that Borussia Dortmund may look to cut their losses and sell Brandt. A transfer never materialised, and the 26 year old has now revealed that he never paid any attention to the transfer rumours.

"“No one has come to me in my four years in Dortmund and said, ‘Jule, we’re thinking of selling you.’ I never got nervous about that.”"

Julian Brandt has made a total of 21 appearances so far this season for Borussia Dortmund, featuring in all but two of the team’s games across all competitions. He has five goals and three assists to his name. And he will certainly be keen to pick up where he left off when BVB return to Bundesliga action after the winter break.
