Borussia Dortmund will go up against FC Basel on Friday in what will be their final friendly match ahead of the second half of the season.

Preparations are in full swing for the start of the second half of the 2022/23 Bundesliga season. And Borussia Dortmund are set to face Swiss side FC Basel in what should be a very exciting contest.

Edin Terzic will be looking for a strong performance from his players on Friday as they look to build some momentum ahead of their first competitive game of the new year.

The Black and Yellows beat Fortuna Düsseldorf 5-1 earlier this week. And the players will be keen to get more minutes and match rhythm under their belts ahead of next weekend’s Bundesliga clash against FC Augsburg. The two teams will play four quarters of 30 minutes each in Friday’s game.

Sebastien Haller could get more playing time on Friday after making his Borussia Dortmund debut against Fortuna Düsseldorf. But Thomas Meunier will miss the game after suffering a thigh injury in training on Thursday. Mateu Morey will also miss out as he continues to recover from his knee injury. Anthony Modeste and Jamie Bynoe-Gittens are both doubts ahead of the game.

FC Basel have two former Borussia Dortmund players in their ranks in Marwin Hitz and Bradley Fink. The Swiss giants are also coached by former BVB striker Alexander Frei.
