Marco Reus’ contract is set to expire at the end of this season and here we take a look at three reasons why Borussia Dortmund should look to hand him an extension soon.

Marco Reus’ future at Borussia Dortmund has come under a bit of doubt, with reports claiming that the club captain is considering other options after being left annoyed by a lack of contract talks with the club. The 33 year old will be out of contract at the end of the season, and the Black and Yellows will want to make a decision on his future in the coming weeks and months.

Reus joined Borussia Dortmund in 2012 as a promising winger and has stayed with the club through thick and thin. As he progressed, Reus’ unique qualities allowed him to adapt his game to play as an attacking midfielder, and he has taken on this new role really well. The club captain has a history of injuries that have left a mark on his career and a gap in the team, however, that has not stopped him from producing quality performances against elite opposition on a very consistent basis.

With his contract expiring in less than six months, here are three reasons why Borussia Dortmund should look to quickly extend Marco Reus’ contract.
