Leading By Example

Although Marco Reus was not given the captaincy until 2018, he has always been a leader on the pitch and an example for his teammates to follow, especially the younger players.

He has done an excellent job of mentoring the likes of Ousmane Dembele, Christian Pulisic, Jadon Sancho, Erling Haaland, and Gio Reyna in recent seasons. And his leadership qualities make him indispensable for Borussia Dortmund.

Not only is Reus an important presence on the pitch, he also makes sure to maintain a level of professionalism and has done so throughout his career. His ability to lead by example makes him a player to follow for Borussia Dortmund’s young stars.

Marco Reus’ approach to the game has undoubtedly impacted the younger generation of players. His style is perfect for the modern game, as he is versatile, unselfish, and a leader. He is a role model for the likes of Jude Bellingham, Youssoufa Moukoko, and Karim Adeyemi. And extending his contract will give him the opportunity to continue to help influence the Black and Yellows’ next generation.
