Report: Youssoufa Moukoko agrees to extend Borussia Dortmund contract

Borussia Dortmund and Youssoufa Moukoko have reportedly reached an agreement over a new three-year contract.

Youssoufa Moukoko is set to finally put an end to the speculation about his future by staying at Borussia Dortmund. According to BILD, the 18 year old has agreed to extend his contract until the end of the 2025/26 season. The new three-year contract is expected to be signed before Borussia Dortmund’s Bundesliga clash against FC Augsburg this weekend.

The tabloid claims that Moukoko will receive an annual salary of up to six million euros. He will also get a signing bonus of more than ten million euros. And his agent will receive around five million euros in commission and 10% of Moukoko’s salary. The total package is set to cost Borussia Dortmund around 35 million euros.

Moukoko’s current contract is set to expire at the end of the season. And there was real danger of him leaving the club on a free transfer in the summer. The likes of FC Barcelona, Chelsea and Newcastle United were seriously interested in signing the Germany international. And Newcastle United even offered him a signing bonus of 30 million euros.

Youssoufa Moukoko’s preference was always to stay at Borussia Dortmund. And after months of speculation, it appears that he has now finally agreed to a contract extension with the Black and Yellows.

Moukoko established himself as BVB’s first-choice striker in the first half of the season, and scored six goals in just 14 Bundesliga appearances. His performances also helped him receive a call-up to the Germany squad for the 2022 FIFA World Cup. Now he is set to continue his development at Borussia Dortmund in the coming years.
