Borussia Dortmund player ratings from 4-3 win over Augsburg
By Tushar Bahl
Julian Ryerson (6/10)
Slotting straight into the starting XI, Ryerson was given plenty of freedom to go forward down the right flank. And he caused Augsburg all sorts of problems in the first half, delivering a number of dangerous crosses in the process.
He will feel that he should have done a better job of clearing Demirović’s shot for Augsburg’s second goal. But other than that, he showed great promise on his debut.
Mats Hummels (5/10)
Hummels had a tough time in defence and was beaten by Ermedin Demirović on a number of occasions. His lack of pace was telling at times, and he also missed a couple of fairly decent chances. But he did end up making some crucial interventions for his side.
Nico Schlotterbeck (4/10)
Schlotterbeck was caught being careless and lost the ball easily before Augsburg’s first goal. But he made up for it moments later by heading home Borussia Dortmund’s second goal. He also had a tough time defensively after the break, and his lacklustre defending nearly proved to be costly on a few occasions.
Raphael Guerreiro (6/10)
Guerreiro looked lively going forward in the first half and forced a good save from the Augsburg goalkeeper. He did get caught out of position on a couple of occasions defensively. But overall, he was rather solid on both ends of the pitch.
