Julian Ryerson has said that he was proud to hear that Borussia Dortmund were interested in signing him, adding that it was a great feeling to make his debut in front of the Yellow Wall.

Julian Ryerson made his Borussia Dortmund debut on Sunday, less than a week after joining the club from Union Berlin. The 25 year old played from the start and delivered an encouraging performance at right-back.

After helping Borussia Dortmund beat Augsburg in a seven-goal thriller, Ryerson spoke about his debut and his excitement to play for his new club.

"“It was an amazing feeling to experience the yellow wall. It was a lot of fun. I looked up a few times during the game.”“It’s difficult when you’re a new player. But my teammates have given me a great reception. I feel very comfortable here.”“The first contact with BVB was a little while ago. I am proud that such a big club was interested in signing me. Now I’m really fired up for the challenge.”"

Ryerson made an instant impact on his Borussia Dortmund debut. The Norwegian international made a number of marauding runs down the right flank and looked lively whenever he ventured forward.

He also delivered a number of dangerous crosses into the box and linked up well with his teammates. In addition, the 25 year old covered more distance on the pitch than any other player and also won the majority of his duels.

Ryerson did make an error which led to Augsburg’s second goal, as he failed to clear Ermedin Demirović’s shot away and the ball bounced off him and went into the back of the net. He said after the game that when the ball hit his thigh, it became very difficult for him to control it.
