Borussia Dortmund are in talks to sign Ivan Fresneda this month, but Arsenal are also said to be in the race for the highly rated right-back’s signature.

Borussia Dortmund could be active in the transfer market once again before the end of the month. According to multiple reports in Germany and England, the Black and Yellows are in talks to sign Ivan Fresneda from Real Valladolid. The Athletic claim that BVB have already agreed terms for the player and are offering a transfer fee of 15 million euros.

But Borussia Dortmund are not alone in the race to sign Fresneda. Arsenal are also interested in signing the 18 year old defender and have also agreed a fee with Real Valladolid. The report adds that the player will choose between the two clubs very soon, and he will then be loaned back to the Spanish club until the end of the season.

Borussia Dortmund are looking to bolster their squad in the two full-back positions, and have already completed the signing of Julian Ryerson from Union Berlin.

The potential arrival of Fresneda would signal the end of Thomas Meunier’s time at Borussia Dortmund. The BVB bosses are also expected to part ways with Raphael Guerreiro in the summer, with Ramy Bensebaini likely to replace him at left-back.
