Borussia Dortmund are said to be in advanced talks to sign highly rated Anderlecht winger Julien Duranville.

Borussia Dortmund’s interest in the player has been well documented, with the 16 year old a Belgian winger seemingly impressing Die Schwarzgelben quite a bit. The club has been lacking in the winger department. And according to BILD, they are ready to make a move for Julien Duranville this month. Talks are well advanced and a fee of nine million euros is being touted.

The post-injury return of Jamie Bynoe-Gittens, who was recovering from a shoulder injury sustained early in the hinrunde, has been a helpful boost for BVB, as seen with the young Englishman’s goal off the bench in BVB’s 4-3 win against Augsburg.

That being said, Borussia Dortmund could still use more depth in this position to both facilitate more competition as well as add quality options that play the position naturally.

In Duranville, BVB would be getting a young and explosive winger who has demonstrated an ability to dribble past opponents with ease despite his young age.

Duranville’s start in professional football draws parallels to that of Youssoufa Moukoko, with both players making their first-team debuts at the age of 16. The winger’s contract runs out in 2024, and Anderlecht are looking to sell him as he has seemingly rejected their contract extension offer.

Fans would have to likely wait some time to watch Duranville play, even if he does sign this month. The player is currently sidelined with a muscular injury. But the plan is for him to play in the first-team in the near future. Duranville, for his part, seems open to a move to Dortmund, where he could eventually become yet another young star and hopefully help lift the club towards greater sporting success.
