Former Borussia Dortmund midfielder Thomas Delaney could be set to make his return to the Bundesliga this month, with TSG Hoffenheim interested in signing him.

TSG Hoffenheim are looking to bring Thomas Delaney back to the Bundesliga, and the midfielder could be set to join André Breitenreiter’s side on loan until the end of the season. According to multiple reports in Germany, the Danish international has agreed to join Hoffenheim and the transfer is likely to be completed before the end of the month.

Delaney has plenty of Bundesliga experience under his belt, having played for both Werder Bremen and Borussia Dortmund. The defensive midfielder spent three years with the Black and Yellows and became a real fan favourite during his spell with the club. He made a total of 88 appearances for BVB before joining Sevilla in 2021.

After enjoying an encouraging debut season in Spain, Thomas Delaney has been reduced to a bit-part role this season. He has been limited to just 12 appearances across all competitions and is free to leave Sevilla this month. The 31 year old will be hoping for a fresh start and more playing time at Hoffenheim, provided the move goes through before transfer deadline day.

It has been a difficult season so far for TSG Hoffenheim, who find themselves languishing in 13th place in the Bundesliga standings at the half-way stage. They will be hoping to turn things around in the second half of the season and fight for a spot in the top half of the table.
