Borussia Dortmund overcame the challenge of Bayer Leverkusen to make it three wins out of three in the Bundesliga in 2023.

Borussia Dortmund’s rise up the Bundesliga standings continued on Sunday evening as they beat Bayer Leverkusen 2-0. The win helped the Black and Yellows move up to fourth place in the Bundesliga table, and they now find themselves just three points behind leaders Bayern Munich.

It was a clinical performance from Borussia Dortmund, who did not create much in terms of chances. Karim Adeyemi opened the scoring in the first half, before Edmond Tapsoba netted an own goal to double BVB’s lead.

Edin Terzic’s side managed to see out the win quite comfortably in the end, thanks in part to some wayward decision making in the final third from Bayer Leverkusen. Here are our player ratings for the Borussia Dortmund players from their 2-0 win over Bayer Leverkusen.

Gregor Kobel (9/10)

Gregor Kobel was without a doubt Borussia Dortmund’s best player on the pitch. He made a total of six saves, including some outstanding stops to keep the Bayer Leverkusen forwards at bay. The Swiss shot-stopper was alert on all occasions and fully deserved his clean sheet.
