Marius Wolf (7/10)

Marius Wolf was the surprise name in the Borussia Dortmund starting XI, but he showed why Edin Terzic entrusted him by delivering a strong performance at right-back. The versatile wide man played with great energy and always looked to win the ball back high up the pitch. He also played a key role in both of BVB’s goals.

Niklas Süle (6/10)

Niklas Süle delivered a solid and assured performance in defence for the most part. He did not do much wrong and also won a number of crucial duels for his side.

Nico Schlotterbeck (6/10)

Like his partner in defence, Nico Schlotterbeck also looked solid defensively and made a number of quality interceptions to stop Leverkusen attacks. He also darted forward to great effect on a couple of occasions.

Julian Ryerson (5/10)

Julian Ryerson was asked to play at left-back and had a very difficult time against Moussa Diaby in the first-half. He grew in confidence as the game went on but was fairly ineffective going forward.
