Felix Passlack has decided to stay at Borussia Dortmund until the end of the season, with his current contract set to expire in the summer.

Borussia Dortmund defender Felix Passlack will not be leaving the club this month. This is being reported by Kicker, who add that the full-back wants to fulfil his contract with the club and will be staying on until the end of the season. Passlack’s contract with the Black and Yellows is set to expire at the end of the season.

It was reported last year that Passlack is dissatisfied with his role at Borussia Dortmund and could look to leave the club during the January transfer window. But a transfer has not materialised. And it looks like he will now leave the club on a free transfer in the summer.

Passlack, who has been at Borussia Dortmund since 2012, has been limited to just four first-team appearances this season. The 24 year old’s only start of the season so far came in the UEFA Champions League group stage clash against FC Copenhagen.

Passlack is unlikely to get much playing time in the second half of the season either, especially following the arrival of Julian Ryerson from Union Berlin.

It remains to be seen what the long-term future holds for Felix Passlack. The full-back has previously had loan spells with TSG Hoffenheim, Norwich City and Fortuna Sittard. But he returned to BVB in 2020, and extended his contract with the club one year later. Passlack has made a total of 54 first-team appearances for Borussia Dortmund.
