Marius Wolf (6/10)

Wolf started at right-back once again and put in another encouraging performance for his side. He did not have much defending to do, but still stepped up with some vital challenges. He was also able to make a number of dangerous forward runs, especially in the first half.

Niklas Süle (6/10)

Süle was caught being a little clumsy in first half stoppage time as his failed clearance allowed Freiburg to equalise out of nowhere. He was unlucky not to score in the first half, as his long-range strike was deflected onto the post by the Freiburg goalkeeper. Overall, it was another solid performance from the German international.

Nico Schlotterbeck (7/10)

Schlotterbeck gave Borussia Dortmund the lead with an excellent finish from a very tight angle. But he will feel that he should have done better to prevent Höler from scoring the equaliser late in the first half. Other than that, he was solid at the back and also delivered some excellent forward passes.

Raphael Guerreiro (8/10)

Guerreiro was given the opportunity to start in the absence of Julian Ryerson. And he certainly made the most of it. He had a few problems early on and also picked up a yellow card for a clumsy challenge. But he looked much more dangerous and switched on in the second half, and helped set up three of Borussia Dortmund’s five goals.
