Edin Terzic was delighted with the impact Karim Adeyemi had in Borussia Dortmund’s 5-1 win over SC Freiburg on Saturday.
Borussia Dortmund continued their impressive start to 2023 by cruising to a 5-1 win over SC Freiburg in the Bundesliga on Saturday. Karim Adeyemi played a key role in the Black and Yellows’ win. And Edin Terzic was full of praise of the German international after the game.
"During his post-match press conference, Terzic said: “He had a lot of good actions and kept the opponent busy. Freiburg were forced to commit several fouls through that side because he was always able to inject his pace into the game. He has improved in his link-up play, he has become more confident in receiving the ball and playing with one touch.”"
Karim Adeyemi has enjoyed an excellent start to the second half of the season, and has now scored in each of Borussia Dortmund’s last two games. He already has more goal involvements in four games in 2023 than he did in the entire first half of the season.
Adeyemi caused the Freiburg defenders all sorts of problems on Saturday with his lightning pace and excellent close control. He took his goal really well despite being surrounded by four Freiburg defenders, and also became the fastest player in Bundesliga history by hitting a top speed of 36.65 km/h.
The 21 year old’s upturn in form has come at the perfect time for Borussia Dortmund, who have a number of big games coming up over the next few weeks. Although the forward will be forced to miss BVB’s next two games through suspension.
Adeyemi’s next appearance in a Borussia Dortmund shirt will come in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League round of 16 tie against Chelsea. And a strong performance from him in that game would be another big boost to his confidence.
