Eintracht Frankfurt are interested in signing Ansgar Knauff on a permanent transfer, and talks with Borussia Dortmund are reportedly set to get underway soon.

Ansgar Knauff is enjoying an impressive loan spell at Eintracht Frankfurt, and the Eagles are now keen to sign him on a permanent transfer. According to BILD, talks between Borussia Dortmund and Eintracht Frankfurt over the future of the wide player are set to begin soon.

Knauff still has 18 months left on his Borussia Dortmund contract. And BILD add that Eintracht Frankfurt do not want to pay a transfer fee of ten million euros to sign him in the summer.

It was reported in December that the Black and Yellows want to extend the contract of the 21 year old. Edin Terzic is a big fan of Knauff and has previously made it clear that he wants him to return to the club in the summer.

A number of clubs from England have also expressed interest in signing Knauff. But the report adds that the likelihood is that Knauff will either stay at Borussia Dortmund or join Eintracht Frankfurt on a permanent transfer.

Ansgar Knauff has made a total of 39 appearances for Eintracht Frankfurt since joining them on loan in January 2022. He helped Oliver Glasner’s side win the UEFA Europa League last season and was also voted as the competition’s best young player of the year.
