Kevin Kampl

Kampl was Jurgen Klopp’s last signing as Borussia Dortmund boss, arriving from from Red Bull Salzburg for almost 11 million euros in January 2015. His arrival came with a lot of expectations, with Borussia Dortmund languishing in the relegation places going into the second half of the season.

However, the Slovenian international struggled to fit in and was not able to make much of an impact for the team. Playing as a winger for most of his brief Borussia Dortmund career, Kampl proved to be a real disappointment and looked overwhelmed at times.

Kampl had more red cards (1) than goals (0) in his Borussia Dortmund career, which tells you all you need to know about his stint at the Westfalenstadion.

Things never clicked for Kampl at Borussia Dortmund, and he ended up leaving just a few months later to join boyhood club Bayer Leverkusen and reunite with former coach and mentor Roger Schmidt. Two years later, he was on the move again, joining RB Leipzig, where he still plays.

Its fair to say that Kampl has turned his career around, but for some reason, things just did not work out for him at Borussia Dortmund.
