Edin Terzic delighted with Julian Ryerson’s start to life at Borussia Dortmund
Edin Terzic has been left very impressed with Julian Ryerson’s start to life at Borussia Dortmund following his move from Union Berlin.
Borussia Dortmund bolstered their full-back ranks with the signing of Julian Ryerson during the January transfer window. And the Norwegian international has made a solid impression since joining BVB from Union Berlin.
Slotting in at both right-back and left-back, Ryerson has quickly established himself as a regular starter for Borussia Dortmund. He has won over the BVB fans with his combative play and ability to tirelessly run up and down the wing. And he also scored his first goal for the Black and Yellows in the come from behind 2-1 win over Mainz 05 last month.
On Thursday, Edin Terzic was asked about the impact Julian Ryerson has made since joining Borussia Dortmund. And the Borussia Dortmund head coach only had positive things to say about the 25 year old. During his pre-match press conference, Terzic said:
"“He has adapted really well, you could feel that straight away in the first few days. We were able to use him immediately because he was in top shape. Since then, he has done really well.”“Julian brings a certain toughness in duels and security on the ball. That’s why we’re very happy that he’s part of our team. We will have a lot of fun with him in the team.”"
Borussia Dortmund are likely to further bolster their full-back ranks in the summer transfer window. But the form of Ryerson has ensured that the need for reinforcements in the area is no longer as pressing as it appeared to be in the first half of the season.
Borussia Dortmund had to pay a transfer fee of just five million euros to sign Julian Ryerson from Union Berlin. And if he continues to perform as he has done so far, he could well end up being one of the club’s best bargain buys in recent seasons.
