Borussia Dortmund will be away to Werder Bremen in the Bundesliga this weekend, aiming to keep pace with their rivals in the title race.

The games keep on coming for Borussia Dortmund, who face another tough test this weekend as they go up against Werder Bremen in the Bundesliga. The Black and Yellows have won all five of their games since the turn of the year. And a win on Saturday would be the perfect preparation for next week’s clash against Chelsea.

Borussia Dortmund will have to make do without Karim Adeyemi once again on Saturday. The German international is suspended after picking up his fifth yellow card of the season last weekend. While Marius Wolf is set to miss out after injuring his shoulder on Wednesday.

Gregor Kobel has made an excellent start to 2023, and he was on form once again on Wednesday as Borussia Dortmund beat VfL Bochum in the DFB-Pokal. He will line up between the sticks against Werder Bremen.

Niklas Süle and Nico Schlotterbeck appear set to continue their partnership at centre-back on Saturday. If Edin Terzic decides to rest one of them, Mats Hummels could come into the starting XI.

Julian Ryerson has made a solid start to his Borussia Dortmund career, and he is set to feature at right-back against Werder Bremen. Raphael Guerreiro will likely start at left-back in Wolf’s absence.

Emre Can and Jude Bellingham will likely start in midfield, with Salih Özcan also an option if Terzic decides to give one of them a breather. Marco Reus should also return to the starting XI after coming off the bench to great effect against Bochum.

Julian Brandt is in great form at the moment and will likely start in the front three on Saturday. The Bremen game is also a great opportunity to give Gio Reyna some meaningful minutes. The USMNT international has only been used off the bench since the turn of the year, but has still scored three goals in just 67 minutes of playing time.

Sebastien Haller has started in Borussia Dortmund’s last three games. And depending on his fitness levels, he could play from the start once again on Saturday. Youssoufa Moukoko would be the obvious choice to come into the team if Haller is unable to play from the start.
