Edin Terzic hailed the quality of the Borussia Dortmund squad after his substitutions had a decisive impact once again on Saturday.

Borussia Dortmund continued their impressive winning run in the Bundesliga on Saturday by claiming a 2-0 win over Werder Bremen. And once again, it was the substitutes who provided the spark for the win.

With the scores level, Edin Terzic decided to bring on Jamie Bynoe-Gittens and Salih Özcan. And just 69 seconds later, the highly rated winger changed the course of the game by finding the back of the net with a thumping finish. Julian Brandt then made it 2-0 late on to secure the win for Borussia Dortmund.

Bynoe-Gittens’ goal marked the tenth goal scored by a Borussia Dortmund substitute in the Bundesliga alone this season. The 18 year old has scored three of those goals, with Gio Reyna also having three goals off the bench to his name.

After the game, Edin Terzic was asked about the impact his substitutions are having in matches. And the Borussia Dortmund head coach said that it is important for them to make sure that they can react to whatever circumstances they may face.

"“It’s the quality of the squad,” Terzic said during his post-match press conference. “We’ve emphasised that on several occasions. There are guys who start the game for us; there are guys who finish the game; and there are guys who decide the game for us.”“It’s the tenth time in the Bundesliga that the guys off the bench have been able to score. We’ve seen it in the Champions League and the Pokal as well. It’s extremely important that we can react to all the circumstances in the game. We hope we can continue to rely on such a strong bench.”"

Borussia Dortmund have finally been able to rely on their strength in depth since the turn of the year with the majority of the squad fully fit once again. And the hope will be that it can stay like this as we head closer to the business end of the season.
