Edin Terzic on Julian Brandt: He has been one of our most consistent players

Edin Terzic was full of praise of Julian Brandt after the attacking midfielder continued his fine run of form for Borussia Dortmund on Saturday.

It is fair to say that Julian Brandt is enjoying his best season in a Borussia Dortmund shirt. After struggling for consistency for much of the last three years, the playmaker has established himself as one of the team’s most important players and is one of the Bundesliga’s most in-form players at the moment.

Brandt’s performances have been crucial to Borussia Dortmund’s remarkable upturn in form in recent weeks. And Edin Terzic hailed the Germany international’s impact after his goal against Werder Bremen on Saturday.

"“Jule has developed extremely well this season,” Terzic said. “He has been one of our most consistent players. He is fully fit, and is always one of the hardest working players. And he is extremely important for us on the ball.”"

Julian Brandt has been ever-present for Borussia Dortmund this season. The 26 year old’s goal against Werder Bremen helped him take his tally for the season to seven goals and five assists in 27 appearances across all competitions. He is now also Borussia Dortmund’s joint top scorer in the Bundesliga this season, having found the back on the net on six occasions in 20 appearances.

Brandt has also developed into a more well-rounded player this season, and has made notable progress in areas such as his high pressing and defensive contributions.

Some reports in Germany claimed before the start of the season that Julian Brandt would be limited to a bit-part role at Borussia Dortmund this season. But he has proved his doubters wrong in an emphatic fashion, and is now one of the first names on the Black and Yellows’ team sheet.
