Jude Bellingham: We’ve got another big job on our hands in the second leg against Chelsea

Jude Bellingham is expecting another tough test against Chelsea in the return leg of their Champions League tie after Borussia Dortmund’s 1-0 win on Wednesday.
Borussia Dortmund earned a 1-0 win in the first leg of their Champions League round of 16 tie against Chelsea on Wednesday thanks to Karim Adeyemi’s stunning second half goal. The Black and Yellows delivered a dogged performance and managed to see out the win despite being under the cosh for long periods in the second half.
The win means that Borussia Dortmund will take a narrow lead into the second leg of their tie against Chelsea. And Jude Bellingham believes that the Black and Yellows cannot afford to get too carried away. In an interview with UEFA, the England international said that they will need to be at their very best in the second leg if they want to qualify for the Champions League quarterfinals.
"“I think it’s a good win for us at home, definitely. But it’s still only a one-goal lead. We know how quickly a team like Chelsea can carve us open and create chances to score goals. So I think we’ve got to be grateful that we’ve performed the way we have, but not get too carried away and understand that we’ve got another big job on our hands in the second leg.”"
Jude Bellingham wore the captain’s armband for Borussia Dortmund on Wednesday and became the second youngest player to captain a team in a UEFA Champions League knockout stage game after Matthijs de Ligt.
The 19 year old told CBS after the game that captaining Borussia Dortmund is the biggest honour of his career so far.
"“For me it’s the biggest honour in my career so far, to captain a football club. I have brilliant role models like Marco [Reus] and Mats [Hummels] and I know how to carry myself when I see them carry themselves so well. So I take a lot of examples from that. I know that without the captain’s armband I can still try and lead the team. We need to all be captains in the second leg. It’s important that we all show up and get the job done.”"
Bellingham has established himself as a real leader both on and off the pitch for Borussia Dortmund this season. And BVB will be counting on him to lead from the front once again when they face Chelsea in the return leg of their Champions League tie on March 7.
