Edin Terzic was full of praise of Karim Adeyemi after the forward scored Borussia Dortmund’s winning goal in the first leg of their Champions League tie against Chelsea.

Karim Adeyemi continued his sparkling run of form by scoring the winning goal for Borussia Dortmund in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League round of 16 tie against Chelsea on Wednesday evening. The goal came at the end of an incredible 70-yard run that saw him breeze past Enzo Fernández and Kepa Arrizabalaga before finding the back of the net.

Edin Terzic lauded Adeyemi after the game and even compared the Germany international to the Roadrunner. In an interview with BT Sport, the Borussia Dortmund head coach said when asked about Adeyemi’s goal:

"“Meep Meep! This is the quality of Karim. It was a corner kick and we defended it quite well. It was a dangerous situation but then when you see his acceleration, and this is something we showed him at half-time as well. And this is what he did. His first touch was there to accelerate the game.”“If you are quick like this then it is going to be very tough for every defence to defend against him. It was a great goal and it was very important as it was the winning goal. I hope that he can continue to perform like this.”"

Adeyemi’s goal against Chelsea on Wednesday helped him take his tally for the season to five goals across all competitions. The 21 year old has found the back of the net in each of his last three appearances for Borussia Dortmund.

After a difficult first half of the season, Adeyemi is finally starting to show signs of the quality that prompted the Black and Yellows to sign him from RB Salzburg for a transfer fee of 30 million euros in the summer.

Karim Adeyemi has caused opposition defenders all sorts of problems with his pace, dribbling and directness since the turn of the year. The hope will be that he can continue his excellent run of form in the coming weeks, with Borussia Dortmund facing a number of crunch games in the Bundesliga and the Champions League.
