Sebastian Kehl hails Borussia Dortmund’s fighting spirit as winning run continues

Sebastian Kehl was full of praise of Borussia Dortmund’s fight and determination after they beat RB Leipzig 2-1 on Friday to continue their impressive winning run.
Borussia Dortmund showed that they are ready to go toe to toe with Bayern Munich in the fight for the Bundesliga title this season by claiming a 2-1 win over RB Leipzig. Despite being put under the cosh for much of the second half, the Black and Yellows held on to claim another hard fought win.
The narrow win over RB Leipzig helped Borussia Dortmund make it ten wins in a row across all competitions since the turn of the year. And Sebastian Kehl was delighted with the team’s commitment on Friday. The BVB sporting director said after the game that the players have shown that they are ready to suffer for the team’s cause.
"“It was a game of two halves,” Kehl said. “Even though we didn’t get off to the best start in the first half, we played some very good football. In the second half, the longer the game went on, the more passive we became and gave the opponent good opportunities.”“Our defending was outstanding. Will, passion, commitment were great again. We won against a top team, our tenth win in a row, that gives a lot of strength and confidence.”“We ran six kilometers more than Leipzig. I think the players put up a brutal fight. We are now fighting back harder, we are ready to suffer, we are battling tirelessly. The team has taken another step in its development and we can build on that. But we haven’t accomplished anything yet.”"
Borussia Dortmund have enjoyed a stunning upturn in form since the turn of the year. And the fighting spirit being portrayed by the players has become a real feature of Edin Terzic’s side. BVB have finally found a way to win matches without being at their absolute best in attack, which is something they had been desperately missing for so long.
Another massive week lies in store for Borussia Dortmund, as they battle Chelsea in the second leg of their UEFA Champions League round of 16 tie on Tuesday, before making the short trip to Gelsenkirchen to take on arch-rivals Schalke 04 in the Bundesliga next weekend.
