Stefan Effenberg believes that Jude Bellingham would be better off staying at Borussia Dortmund beyond the end of the season.

The future of Jude Bellingham has been the subject of constant speculation in recent months. The England international is attracting the interest of some of Europe’s biggest clubs, with the likes of Real Madrid, Liverpool and Manchester City said to be leading the race for his signature.

But Stefan Effenberg feels that staying at Borussia Dortmund for at least one more season would be the best decision for Bellingham’s own development. In his column for Sport1, the Bayern Munich legend wrote:

"“I would advise Bellingham to stay in Dortmund, he is still young and can still sign three, four top contracts in the future. I also think, unlike Haaland, Bellingham has a strong connection with BVB. He gets total support and trust. Therefore, I hope for his own development that he decides to stay. And there is no guarantee elsewhere either. Sancho is the best example of this.”"

Amid all the speculation, Bellingham has not yet made a final decision on his future. And the Black and Yellows are still hopeful of convincing him to stay at the club beyond the end of the season.

The 19 year old still has two years left on his current contract with Borussia Dortmund. So the BVB bosses are under no pressure to sell him at the moment. It is being reported that Sebastian Kehl and co. will demand a transfer fee in the region of 150 million euros if Bellingham decides that he wants to leave the club in the summer.
