Borussia Dortmund are looking to extend the contract of Julian Brandt, and have asked his representatives for a date to hold initial talks.

Julian Brandt has been one of Borussia Dortmund’s top performers this season. And his performances have seen him attract the interest of a number of clubs. The Black and Yellows are keen to keep the Germany international at the club beyond the end of the season.

And SportBILD are claiming that the BVB bosses have sent a request to Brandt’s representatives to set a date for initial talks with a view towards extending his contract. The magazine adds that Borussia Dortmund are prepared to offer the former Bayer Leverkusen midfielder a significant salary increase. They are hoping for a decision on his long-term future to be made before the end of the season.

Brandt said recently that he is happy at Borussia Dortmund, adding that he is very relaxed about his future at the moment. With less than 18 months left on his current contract, it remains to be seen what the future holds for him.

Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur are both said to be interested in signing Julian Brandt, who has nine goals and five assists to his name in 32 appearances across all competitions this season for Borussia Dortmund.
