Borussia Dortmund blew away visitors FC Köln in a 6-1 win this past weekend at the Westfalenstadion to take over top spot in the Bundesliga table.

It was a weekend filled with thrills and exhilaration for Borussia Dortmund as they ran away 6-1 winners vs FC Köln in the Bundesliga. A week after stumbling to a 2-2 draw against Schalke, BVB set about getting back to winning ways in blistering style, with the likes of Raphaël Guerreiro, Donyell Malen, Sébastien Haller and Marco Reus all getting on the scoresheet.

Borussia Dortmund maintained dominance throughout the game, running circles around Köln. Midfield supremacy, defensive rigidity (for the most part), and a lethal edge in attack led to a stunning display of just the sort of football they are capable of producing on their day.

BVB’s win has seen them climb to the to of the Bundesliga, and they will remain there at least until their trip to Bayern Munich on April 1st. The performance has underlined quite a few takeaways that point towards a level of resilience in this side.

Their ability to jump right back into strong performances in the advent of adversity has been built on a collective effort. For some, it has meant reinventing themselves. For others it has meant finding form and facing personal adversity, and for even others still it has meant breaking records and immortalizing themselves in BVB history.
