Five positions Borussia Dortmund could look to bolster in the summer transfer window
Central Midfielder(s)
Central midfield will arguably be the biggest key for Borussia Dortmund in the summer transfer window. The Black and Yellows have already revealed that Mahmoud Dahoud will be leaving the club as a free agent at the end of this season, and Jude Bellingham’s future is also a question mark as many clubs have him on their radar. Even if Bellingham decides to stay, BVB could benefit from more options in midfield.
In defensive midfield, Emre Can is proving his value, providing more solidity at the back and becoming one of the reasons for Borussia Dortmund’s strong defensive performances. Salih Özcan is also an option for that role, even if he has struggled to make his mark in his debut season with the club.
With Dahoud and possibly Bellingham leaving, Borussia Dortmund need to bring in at least one or two midfielders with dynamism and passing characteristics that could provide Edin Terzić with different options. Daichi Kamada seems to be the first piece of the puzzle, but his profile is more of an attacking midfield rather than a ball carrying midfielder. And it will certainly be interesting to see how BVB go about their transfer business in the summer.
