Winger

The wings may not be the most alarming position Borussia Dortmund need to bring reinforcements in. But the constant injuries in the squad and the lack of experience of most of BVB’s wide players may spark a change in thinking.

Of course, Borussia Dortmund are known for developing young players, and youngsters like Jamie Bynoe-Gittens and Julien Duranville will get the chance to shine in the coming months.

But their lack of experience and the abundance of injuries at Dortmund mean that it may be irresponsible to put the whole responsibility on their shoulders.

Whether or not Borussia Dortmund decide to bring in a new winger will also depend on the future of Donyell Malen. The Dutchman has contributed well in the last few games, but has endured a difficult time overall in the Bundesliga since his move from PSV. It remains to be seen if he will be able to make his mark at the club. And if the BVB bosses decide to part ways with him in the summer, bringing in a new winger would make a lot of sense.
