Marco Reus vs Joshua Kimmich

Joshua Kimmich is, arguably, the most important player in the Bayern Munich lineup. Playing in the number six role, he coordinates his team’s attacks and contributes a great deal defensively.

His biggest concern will be halting Borussia Dortmund’s counters and dealing with Marco Reus.  Since Reus’ return from injury, he has been a constant source of chance creation and will be a handful for the Bayern defence on Saturday as he looks to continue to lead his side’s charge for the Bundesliga title.

So far in 2023, Marco Reus has directly contributed to seven goals in ten appearances. The 33-year-old will be vital in launching Borussia Dortmund’s counter attacks and creating goal-scoring opportunities.

Reus will likely be a creative focal point for BVB. He will also be crucial on the defensive end, and will need to disrupt Kimmich’s passing lanes and, overall, make life difficult for him.
