Marco Reus (4/10)

Reus made a couple of promising runs early on but wasn’t able to spur his team to victory. He worked hard but failed to make anything happen, and was replaced by Mahmoud Dahoud at the hour mark.

Julian Brandt (4/10)

Brandt made his return to the team but his lack of match rhythm was telling as he struggled to make any impact. He did have a few neat touches early on, but the game pretty much passed him by after that. The playmaker was also caught ball watching for Bayern’s second goal, before being subbed off at half-time.

Sebastien Haller (3/10)

Haller found it very difficult to get involved in the game and was kept very much at bay by the Bayern Munich centre-backs. He had a half-chance to score early in the second half but failed to really test Yann Sommer.

Mats Hummels (5/10)

Hummels came on for Schlotterbeck late in the first half, with the game already in the bag for his former club. He did make a few crucial interceptions for his side, but also found it very difficult to deal with Bayern’s counter attacking prowess.

Donyell Malen (7/10)

Malen provided a much-needed spark off the bench for Borussia Dortmund. The Dutchman looked lively during his cameo appearance and also made it 4-2 with a deft finish late on.

Salih Özcan (4/10)

Özcan came on at half-time and failed to provide the stability Edin Terzic might have hoped he would bring to the middle of the park. The Turkish international put in a laboured shift and his forward passing was frustrating at best.
