Borussia Dortmund will look to make an immediate return to winning ways as they go up against RB Leipzig in the DFB-Pokal quarterfinals on Wednesday.

Another tough test lies in store for Borussia Dortmund this Wednesday as they square off against RB Leipzig in the quarterfinals of the DFB-Pokal. The Black and Yellows were handed their first defeat of the year in Germany on Saturday as they lost to Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga.

Anything other than a win against Marco Rose’s side on Wednesday, and BVB will likely be staring at a season without any silverware. Here we take a look at how Borussia Dortmund could line up for their trip to RB Leipzig in the DFB-Pokal.

Gregor Kobel had a game to forget against Bayern and will look to bounce back on Wednesday. A strong performance from him would go a long way in helping him restore his confidence.

With Nico Schlotterbeck injured, Mats Hummels will join Niklas Süle in central defence in Leipzig. The veteran defender will be keen to show that he is still capable of performing at the highest level.

Marius Wolf will likely keep his spot at right-back, and Raphael Guerreiro could move to left-back with Julian Ryerson possibly dropping to the bench.

In midfield, Emre Can will start alongside Jude Bellingham. The England international will be keen to deliver a strong performance after struggling against Bayern. Salih Özcan could also be an option if Edin Terzic decides to field a more defensive line-up.

Marco Reus will likely start in the number ten role, with Julian Brandt playing in the free role in attack. Karim Adeyemi will miss the trip to Leipzig through suspension after being sent off in the second round of the DFB-Pokal. So Donyell Malen could return to the starting XI after impressing off the bench on Saturday.

Sebastien Haller is sidelined and Youssoufa Moukoko could potentially replace him depending on his fitness levels.
